"Begone" is a 37' Frans Maas designed and Holland built sloop in 1961, Her major restoration was completed in 2005 and she then cruised the Sea of Cortez. In 2015 we sailed her to Hawaii, the Pacific Northwest and back home to San Francisco Bay.
We are delighted to say that Begone has found her new caretakers for her next adventure!

Begone "on the hard" with John Kiesling, Tom and Suzanne
Tom and Susanne: Wonderful to see Begone enter another life! We miss you guys but will follow you through the Sea of Cortez % of the blog. Matt got a new glider in sept. and sold 22 Tango to Matt Jr. We plan to fly Arizona together next year. Jeannine and Matt have just published a book about our voyage down the West Coast of Africa through the eyes of Matthew's log. It's an adventure story for Middle School kids, and an encouragement to take off and explore the world. We'd love to send you a copy, but maybe should wait for a more secure mailing address. Possibly it will be available as an iPod book before long: "Our Big Blue Schoolhouse."

Hey Tom and Suzanne, Great to get the email and find out what's going on. I'll be looking at the blog for updates. How is the radio working out? I'm sure that is a low priority w/ everything else going on. Have you set your clocks to manana time yet?.....lol! I'll be going on an ocean voyage in Jan. Unfortunately it will be going up to Washington. Not my idea of a fun time, but the pay will be good. I've got 130' of vessel and about 5600 HP. If the conditions are good we will be able to do 35 kts., but as you know, the sea will dictate the speed. I'll be thinking of you in the warm weather and tranquil seas as I get my butt beat....lol.
